Alan Carlo has a civil litigation practice focusing on construction and product liability issues as well as worker’s compensation matters covering the entire State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. His diverse client base includes representation of small business owners with simple labor and employment matters.
Alan has tried cases before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and every Circuit Court in the State of Maryland. He has been lead counsel in numerous matters argued before both Appellant Courts of the state of Maryland, in many of these cases establishing new law in the areas of psychiatric injuries, the going and coming rule, the duties of statutory principal contractors to sub-contractors’ employees, consequential injuries resulting from prior disabilities, and issues involving partial or full dependency in death cases.
He is a member of the bars of Maryland, Connecticut and the District of Columbia as well as having been admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Maryland State, Federal and American Bar Associations, the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Bar Associations, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Maryland Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the National Association of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals.
